Joni mitchell is one of the famous singer in Canada. She was born in Fort MacLeod, Alberta in 1943. We can hear her songs very common, and also we can see her pictures too. She is really talented person. she went to art school, which is the Alberta Collage of Art Design and started playing guitar. Usually she sang to make extra money. She was good composer too. She wrote lots of songs and people liked them. At the age of nine, Mitchell contracted polio. She sang a songs in hospital and interested of singing soon. Then she started singing. In 1964, she found out that she was pregnant by her college ex-boyfriend and had a baby girl. however she couldn't take care of her baby, so she put her baby up for adoption. The experience remained private for most of her career, but she made allusions to it in several songs. Unfortunately she didn't see her daughter until 1997.
She married fork-singer Chuck Mitchell and took his last name. In 1965, Chuck took her to the Detroit,US, they sang in coffeehouses together. But the marriage and partnership of Joni and Chuck Mitchell dissolved in early 1967, After that she started writing songs for other singers. Folk singer Tom Rush had met Mitchell in Toronto and was impressed with her songwriting ability. He introduced her song to popular folk act Judy Collins but she was not interested in the song at the time, so Rush recorded it himself. Later, she wrote "Both Sides Now", and it was a hit for Judy Collins. After many hits album, she moved to jazz music. She worked with many artists in fork music and jazz. She releases 18 albums, won 9 Grammies until now. She already retired in 2002, but made a comeback in 2005.
Many people loves her voice. It makes us very comfortable. Her songs spread all over the countries. One of the most famous song, 'Both Sides Now' was played at the opening ceremonies of the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver. I have heard her songs before. Always her songs give me many energies to live.
